Born in 1980, in the beautiful city of Monastir in the Tunisian Sahel on the Mediterranean coast, Mohamed Ali Mhalla left tunisia at a very young age in order to continue his university studies at the University of Moncton in Canada.
The young Tunisian student discovered that we could not get the ingredients necessary to prepare his favortie tunisian dishes. His answer: The opening in 2008 of the Blue Olive market and restaurant in Dieppe which quickly turned into one of the best restaurants in the region.
Since then, this young entrepreneur with his engineering degree and his master’s degree in business administration and with the help of his wife Nathalie Beaudin and a team made up of professional and dedicated men and women, persevered in the competitive market of restaurants and his success has been recognized by several recent distinctions and by the opening of the Blue Olive “The Thousand and One Nights” this time in downtown Moncton. A magical place that offers its visitors to travel in the world of the Arabian Nights and discover the richness and finesse of the Tunisian & arab culture.
As soon as you walk in the doorway of the Blue Olive, delicious exotic scents take people on a gastronomic adventure towards the Mediterranean by the flavours of delicious meals from Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia and Greece.
Married and father of two children, a boy and a girl, his family and professional commitments did not prevent him from involving in the community as a young leader and visionary through several actions and positions taken in order to promote cultural diversity, the integration of immigrants and inter-community rapprochement. We can especially name the Economic and Social Development Initiative for Syrian Women (SWESDI) which supports the integration of Syrian women into our community through the realization of economic and social projects and activities in order to develop their autonomy and their entrepreneurial spirit.
Dali is also a very dedicated soccer coach how founded in 2020 Elite Soccer Development, an independent initiative that aims to provide high-quality soccer programs for youth soccer players.
The desire to reconnect with his native country and his particular interest in olive oil led him to launch OLOVE in 2022, which he considers it as a gesture of affection and gratitude to his homeland, Tunisia.
The entrepreneurial spirit and leadership of Dali did not go unnoticed, who notably received the Greater Moncton Excellence Award in 2013, the Expansion Dieppe Emerging Company Award in 2014, the Prix EY Entrepreneur of the Year in the Hospitality and Tourism category, the Radio-Canada personality of the year and most recently the prestigious Paul Harris Prize.
